Mineral Point wrestling community grieves
the loss of a State Champion

Former State Champion and future MP Hall of Fame wrestler, Josh “Frog” Mester passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2008, from injuries received in an automobile accident. Josh is the son of avid wrestling fans, Bill and Chris Mester. Josh was a State Runner-up for Mineral Point in 2001, and a State Champion in 2002. He was Captain of the 2002 State Team Champions. Josh was an All-American (5th place) at the 2002 Senior Nationals. He wrestled for two years in college at Central Michigan . Josh is a member of a prominent wrestling family. His father Bill served as President of the MP wrestling club. His brother Brian was a state qualifier, and his brother Jason was a college All-American and is a member of the MP wrestling Hall of Fame.

Please join me in offering our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Josh Mester. He was truly a great champion, and will be deeply missed by the Mineral Point wrestling community.
