Kevin Kinch will be inducted into the Hall of Fame
on Friday, Jan. 29th.

Kevin resides in Mineral Point with his wife, Andrea, and three children, Kaitlyn, Lexi, and Macy.

 

HISTORY

The process for creating the Allen E. Bauman Wrestling Hall of Fame was started in 1995. A group of coaches, former coaches, and alumni gathered together for a meeting each with their own ideas on how such an institution would be formed. They chose a charter membership, and in 1997 the first annual Hall of Fame Night took place at the Mineral Point High School gymnasium, during the match against Dodgeville. On this night the charter members were honored as the first inductees into the Hall of Fame. A Board was formed to conduct the selection process for this Hall of Fame each year.

Over the years fans and supporters of the Mineral Point wrestling program have presented new ideas to the Board on how to improve the Hall of Fame. Some changes have been made, but the integrity of this institution has never been compromised. The Hall of Fame Night has continued to be an annual event since the first night in 1997.

SELECTION PROCESS

 Nominations:

Nominees for the Hall of Fame may be submitted by Hall of Fame inductees only . Each Hall of Fame member may select one nominee per year. Anyone who is not a Hall of Fame member but wishes to submit a name for a nominee may do so by contacting a Hall of Fame member and requesting his or her name for nomination. The Hall of Fame member may then agree or refuse to submit that name.

Any names submitted for nomination will then be placed in the Nominee Reserve File. Names will be moved from the Nominee Reserve File to the Final Nomination List as inductees are selected from the Final List to the Hall of Fame. The number of names moved from the Reserve File to the Final List will be the same as the number of Hall of Fame inductees selected for that year. Nominees to be moved from the Reserve File to the Final List will be selected by the Hall of Fame Board. Nominees must be graduated from High School for a minimum of five years to qualify for nomination.

Voting Procedure:

Voting will be done by Hall of Fame inductees only . Each Hall of Fame member may submit one vote per year. The Hall of Fame member may select his or her vote from the ballot. The ballot will consist of the Final Nomination List. This ballot will be sent to him or her each year and may also be obtained on the Mineral Point Wrestling website, www.mineralpointwrestling.com .

Ties:

In the event of a tie between two Hall of Fame nominees, the Hall of Fame Board members will hold a tiebreaker vote. The nominee receiving the majority of the tiebreaker vote will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

INDUCTION CEREMONY

The induction ceremony for new Hall of Fame inductees is done each year in the Mineral Point High School gymnasium. The ceremony will take place at a home wrestling match. The date of this match is selected by the Hall of Fame Board, and it will be posted on the Mineral Point Wrestling website. This match is called Hall of Fame Night.
